I wrote the poem from the perspective of the character that I'm doing. My topic is someone's life and I'm doing it on the life of my great grandpa who was killed in World War 2. I don't know if I'll use it in my project yet but we'll see.
Noises all around us,
Hear the booms and blasts,
Trying to stay alive,
Every day could be your last.
The war is almost over,
its coming to an end,
we are all tired of fighting,
home is where we want to be send.
We all miss our families,
We write them if we can,
The person I miss the very most,
Is my daughter, Jan.
We are constantly in danger,
Sometimes it gets bad,
I pray for all the children,
That will grow up without a dad.
I hope I make it out alive,
of this dreadful war,
And when this war is over,
I hope there will be no more.
Nice job, Wyatt. Something that has this power could be used as your opening piece; I think it would definitely hook readers. I can't wait to see where this project takes your writing! Nice job. Remember to title your poem!
